The Ambassador Hotel and the Greater Kingston Predators will be hosting our Annual “AAA” Tournament at the Cataraqui Community Centre from Friday, January 16th to Sunday, January 18th, 2009

The Limestone City Cup will have from 8 teams in each division. Kingston has developed some great talent over the years including Doug Gilmour, Kirk Muller and Don Cherry. Alumni of the Greater Kingston Hockey Association include Alan McCauley (San Jose Sharks), Jay McKee (Buffalo Sabres), Bryan Allen (Vancouver Canucks), Andy Sutton (Atlanta Thrashers), Kip Brennan (Los Angeles Kings), John Tripp (Atlanta Thrashers) ,Nathan Robinson (Detroit Red Wings/Grand Rapids-AHL), Jay McClement (Worcester-AHL).

Entry fee for the Limestone City Cup is:

$900.00

Registration Deadline:             October 31, 2008

Teams will be notified by email  of their acceptance in the Limestone City Cup. Tournament rules, scheduled games and hotel information will be forwarded to the selected teams.

Applications submitted without the tournament entry fee will not be considered. Cheques can be post-dated to December 1, 2008

Tournament Format:

All Divisions:

Game times for Atom will be 12-12-12 minute stop-time periods .For Peewee Divisions 15-15-15. There will be no running time. Two points will be awarded for a win, one point each for a tie. The ice will be resurfaced before each game. Ties in round-robin games are final. There will be a 4 minute timed warm-up prior to each game.

In Case of a Tie in Group Standings, the following procedures will apply:

1.       Team with most wins will be placed higher

2.       Winner of any head-to-head games

3.       Add goals for and goals against together and divide into goals for. The team with the highest percentage will be placed higher

4.       If still tied, least goals against, then most goals for and lastly coin toss.

Rules and Regulations:

Limestone City Cup tournament games shall be governed by CAHA & OMHA regulations except as supplemental herein.

A team official must report to tournament office at least one hour prior to first game and 45 minutes prior to each game. Teams are to be ready at least ten minutes before game time.

19 players, including 2 goaltenders, may dress for each game. All players must be registered prior to the start of their first game.

Any gross misconducts incurred by players or coaching staff, will be reviewed by the tounament committee and could warrant removal from the tournament.

There shall be no protests; the official(s) decision is final.
